Dr. Maja Green

Managing Director

Dr. Maja Green is a highly accredited research scientist with a reputation for executing studies seamlessly and to a level of outstanding accuracy. Originally living in Gothenburg, Sweden, Maja now has over 15 years of research experience in Melbourne, Australia.

Her studies range over multiple health topics, inclusive of elderly frailty, oncology, neurocognitive performance, postoperative pain and chronic pain.

  • Dr Paul Verrills

    PRIMARY INVESTIGATOR

    Dr Paul Verrills practices full time interventional pain management in Melbourne, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Musculoskeletal Medicine and completed Masters in Pain Medicine under Professor Bogduk, at the University of Newcastle.

  • Dr Dan Bates

    PRIMARY INVESTIGATOR

    Dr Bates is a Sports and Exercise Physician working in the area of chronic musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain. He is the current Managing Director of Back, Neck & Joint in Balwyn. His research career has been broad covering exercise induced asthma, examination techniques, biologics, osteoarthritis, chronic pain and neuromodulation.

  • Vida Nazemian

    RESEARCH COORDINATOR

    Vida Nazemian holds a bachelor’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology-Microbiology, a master’s degree in Medical Physiology, and a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience. Vida has over 10 years of experience in neuro inflammation and inflammatory pain and finding suitable therapies.

  • Dr Stephen Nutter

    PRIMARY INVESTIGATOR

    Specialist anaesthetist with an interest in interventional pain. Holds Fellowships from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

  • Dr Guy Buchanan

    PRIMARY INVESTIGATOR

    Extensive background in pain medicine and anaesthetics. Interests include neuropathic pain, spinal pain, complex pain, evidence-based practice, pain interventions and self management.

  • Dr Neels Du Toit

    Extensive sports medicine and interventional pain background. Specialties include chronic back, groin and neck pain.

  • Dr Simon Cohen

    PRIMARY INVESTIGATOR

    Dr Simon Cohen is a staff specialist in pain medicine at Monash Health and Monash Children's hospital in Clayton, Melbourne. He is dually qualified in pain as a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine and in paediatrics as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He is an honorary lecturer at Monash University and past chair of the paediatric special interest group of the Australian Pain Society.

    PAIN SPECIALIST NURSE

    Gabrielle is an enthusiastic, focused and passionate UK trained nurse with over 8 years of experience. She has worked at Metro Pain Group and with Metro Pain Research Institute since 2019
